How do you make it work?

By working. That’s it. That’s how I’m going to get back into shape…by working out. It’s how I’m going to build my business. By working.
At 8am I woke up, and prepared for crossfit. Got the kids ready, and off we went. You can read more about this on the weight loss page of my blog.
After arriving home, and getting the kids settled, I made calls to my leads. Only got one on the phone, she was super nice and great to talk to. Received an email back from a lead I had left a message with. Two out of four isn’t too bad in my book. I mailed out five information packets and will follow up with those in about a week.
After about 1-1 1/2 hrs on business, the kiddos and I went out to play. We went to Boondocks and they had a blast. We returned home around 6:30, had dinner and now it’s about bedtime.
All in all, I feel today was a success. I woke up early, worked out, worked on my business, and played with my family. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Preparing the garden

Hubby working hardLast night, we started working on our garden. This is my first attempt at a ‘real’ garden…and I think I may have bitten off more than I can chew…lol. We have rototilled an area that is 12×30 and are putting in pretty much everything I could find seeds for…and then some, as I will buy tomatoes that are already started. I am excited though. I know it will be a lot of work, but toward the end of the summer, when we start reaping the wonderful food that we have grown ourselves, will totally be worth it.

Blacklight Miniature Golf

This has absolutely nothing to do with business, but it was so fun, I thouht I’d share!  My hubby, boys, and I went to Shankz for some blacklight miniature golf.  The artwork in there is AWESOME!  The music was good, and we had an all-around good time.  The boys really enjoyed it.  A little bit different game of golf than the driving range yesterday. :)

If you’re in Boise/Meridian, I highly recommend stopping in for a game.  It’s super fun, and the owners are very nice.  They also have theme rooms for birthday parties.

You can find them at http://www.shankzglowgolfing.com/Location.htm

BSU vs. Hawaii & Bringing back an old classic

My broncos lost.  Oh well, we’ve had another great year and a great team that still has a lot of young players.  I can’t wait to see how the next few years go.  Here are some pics of hubby and I enjoying the game.

Now…for the old classic

Some of you may remember Super Mario Bros. on the original Nintendo console….and all of the hassles that came with the original NES….blowing on your games, having a Super Secret Code that you had to do in perfect order to get your game to work….out, in, tap, tap, out, blow, in, tap, slam!….etc…you get the point.  Well no longer do we have to deal with the little idiosyncrasies of the old system.  With the Nintendo Wii you can download some of your favorite video games from the good ol’ days.  After a year of owning my Wii, I finally got it hooked up to my wi-fi (thanks to their nifty wi-fi usb plug in….and NO thanks to my super awesome [sarcastic] Linksys WRTG 54G v.5 Wireless router)….and downloaded Super Mario Bros.  YAY!!!!  Finally, a game I can play!  It is amazing, after probably 20 years…I can still remember the hidden pieces, how to ‘warp’, and most of the little tricks that enable one to get through the game.  So tonight….we are schooling the kiddos on what games ‘used’ to be….for now, Super Mario Bros is beating out Resident Evil IV.  (sweet!)

SLACKER, Slacker, slacker

Aggghhhh, it sucks being a slacker, lol.  I haven’t updated my blog in over a week, and there’s just not much to talk about.  I guess I’d better start reading more, or doing more…so I have something to talk about!

Anyways…this weekend I will be doing a craft show in the Red Feather Subdivision clubhouse.  For any of you that are local, stop by and check it out.  It’s on Saturday from 9am-2pm.  There will be food, a Body Shop lady is going to be there, so you can soak your feet, I’ll have candles, and there will be much more!  You can come support your local Stay at Home Moms!

….It’s over

Yep, we survived another Halloween.  Despite not going shopping for costumes until Monday evening, we got what everyone wanted.  My littlest guy was ‘black spiderman’ aka. Venom.  My middle boy was Cpt. Jack Sparrow, complete with coffee beard (which itches incredibally bad, unfortunately).  And my oldest was a mix between the funny Scream character and the bad Scream character.  All in all it was a good night.

We started at hubby’s work, where the entire night shift (approx 60 people) planned for their families to come in.  We left with about 3lbs. of candy in EACH of their bags.  Then it was time for the neighborhood trick-or-treating.  My little guy had enough after only about an hour…and still managed to bring home a TON of candy.  My middle guy stuck it out for about an hour and a half, brining in another TON of candy.  And my oldest, hung out for about 2 hours, racing around the neighborhood first with hubby, then with some of his friends…..also bringin home a TON of candy.

Candy total=20lbs.

…….

              …………….

Are you kidding me????  What am I supposed to do with 20lbs of candy????  My kids are lucky to get an occasional piece of candy or an ice cream cone after school.  Do you know how long it will take to get through 20lbs?  I don’t have much of a sweet tooth, and neither does hubby (good thing, or we’d gain 30 lbs each).

So….what to do with all of the candy?

It was suggested by an acquaintance to save it, and put it into a pinata for the next childs birthday (many months away)…..good idea…might have to use it…but I’m a bit fearful that little hands will find their way into the stash far too often for my comfort….

Maybe I will make goodie bags?  Hmm…that’s not a bad idea….

Well…if you have any suggestions, I’d love to hear them!  lol

Until next year……

I did it! Update on the ‘Salesman’ post

A while ago I posted about the meat salesman that came to my door….and what a sucker I am for door-to-door sales…I feel like I should be supporting everybody!  But I can’t!!!!  Well….today he came back.  ‘Just checking up on us’ to see how we liked the meat..etc…etc..etc.  I politely told him that financially, we weren’t able to commit to anything at this time.  And off he went.  I did it!!!
