Christmas is coming…Christmas is coming!!!!

Thanksgiving is over…..out with the fall, and in with the winter!  It snowed here last week..and it is COLD!  Not to let the season get too far into the swing of things, before I update….I’ve changed my colors to reflect the merriment to come!  As always, you can chat with me while I’m online…..

<<<right over there!

And if I’m not online, just leave me a message!

A new product ~ Pumpkin Pie

Can I just start by saying how much I love the company I am in?  I truly believe they want the very BEST for their distributors (instead of just fat pockets).  They are always looking out for new products that will actually benefit us, and be used by our customers.

This week we introduced our new Pumpkin Pies.  Want the smell and look of a Pumpkin Pie without the work?  We’ve got it!  These make beautiful, unique gifts and will be appreciated by their recipients!

SLACKER, Slacker, slacker

Aggghhhh, it sucks being a slacker, lol.  I haven’t updated my blog in over a week, and there’s just not much to talk about.  I guess I’d better start reading more, or doing more…so I have something to talk about!

Anyways…this weekend I will be doing a craft show in the Red Feather Subdivision clubhouse.  For any of you that are local, stop by and check it out.  It’s on Saturday from 9am-2pm.  There will be food, a Body Shop lady is going to be there, so you can soak your feet, I’ll have candles, and there will be much more!  You can come support your local Stay at Home Moms!

….It’s over

Yep, we survived another Halloween.  Despite not going shopping for costumes until Monday evening, we got what everyone wanted.  My littlest guy was ‘black spiderman’ aka. Venom.  My middle boy was Cpt. Jack Sparrow, complete with coffee beard (which itches incredibally bad, unfortunately).  And my oldest was a mix between the funny Scream character and the bad Scream character.  All in all it was a good night.

We started at hubby’s work, where the entire night shift (approx 60 people) planned for their families to come in.  We left with about 3lbs. of candy in EACH of their bags.  Then it was time for the neighborhood trick-or-treating.  My little guy had enough after only about an hour…and still managed to bring home a TON of candy.  My middle guy stuck it out for about an hour and a half, brining in another TON of candy.  And my oldest, hung out for about 2 hours, racing around the neighborhood first with hubby, then with some of his friends…..also bringin home a TON of candy.

Candy total=20lbs.

…….

              …………….

Are you kidding me????  What am I supposed to do with 20lbs of candy????  My kids are lucky to get an occasional piece of candy or an ice cream cone after school.  Do you know how long it will take to get through 20lbs?  I don’t have much of a sweet tooth, and neither does hubby (good thing, or we’d gain 30 lbs each).

So….what to do with all of the candy?

It was suggested by an acquaintance to save it, and put it into a pinata for the next childs birthday (many months away)…..good idea…might have to use it…but I’m a bit fearful that little hands will find their way into the stash far too often for my comfort….

Maybe I will make goodie bags?  Hmm…that’s not a bad idea….

Well…if you have any suggestions, I’d love to hear them!  lol

Until next year……

Halloween Party

Saturday night, hubby and I went to a mostly ‘adult’ halloween party.  We had a great time, hanging out with our friends.  I was a nurse and hubby was a doctor.  Here are some pictures.

A not-so-boring day

I had to go to the DMV today to get some records for a friend.  I was prepared for a long wait….this being the standard at our primary office.  I was pleasantly surprised.  While I was there, getting the records, I was able to finally get my name changed on my drivers license and get an id card also (backup is always good).  Yay!  Then it was off to the bank to get my checking account updated with my new name (I was married in May….about time huh???)LOL.  In and out in under 5 minutes.  Holy cow!  Everything was just WORKING today!  It was very nice!

So, while I was driving around town today, I passed a sign…at a church…I had to do a double-take, then go back and take a picture!  Here you go, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Church…to go….or to stay in bed???

I was ‘tag surfing’ tonight, as I do most nights, in search of neat, new blogs that I may otherwise never see.  I found this great post including lots of pictures of clay pot people.  Very neat, and creative.  Thank you for sharing!

Decorating for Halloween

As I stated in my post ‘what color of orange are you’, I love fall.  I love the colors, the leaves and all of the beautiful oranges, reds and yellows.  I love the crisp, cool evenings and mornings with warm afternoons.  I love the smell in the air (since all summer we were breathing smoke here).  Halloween, in particular is a lot of fun for me.  I like decorating with oranges, blacks, purples and reds.  I like having fake foilage as accents in my home.  So…last night and today, I worked on getting my home decorated.  In our tv room, we have used the arches from our wedding, for a decorative arch over the tv.  Most of the year, it will have the raffia and flowers that were on it for our wedding, which fits well with the theme of the room..it’s kindof a tropical room.  But for now, I have removed the flowers, wrapped orange lights around the arches, and hung spiderwebs (with spiders).  In the middle I will be placing a large spider.  I have yet to locate him at any of the stores I have been to.  On the dvd/game stand, normally we have a (fake) banana tree, and other miscellaneous islandy decorations.  Now, it holds fun little halloween decorations.  Our stand where our wedding picture usually rests, is now home to a skeleton cat and dog, with additional spider webs.

I think it all looks very festive, and am quite pleased with myself.  Here are pictures:

I have one more thing, a ‘little’ project I planned on being a family project, but ended up being just my project…lol.  It was a little harder and more detailed than it looked, and not really kid-friendly.  Here is my clay pot Haunted Halloween House scene.

Haunted Halloween House

So, after my decorating is done for the night, I decided to do some blog surfing to see what is out there.  I like finding funny stories, or funny blogs.  I found a nice little (non) tribute to Halloween, apparently not everyone likes it like I do. <big grin>

Update:  Pic of arch (tv included, lol), I just don’t know how to make it look good.  It looks much better in person :)

Idea Queen Tips Blog

Wow! This blog is awesome! The Idea Queen is full of money-saving tips, tricks, recipes and fun! I spent quite a bit of time just browsing through all of the wonderful ideas she has. I found a great recipe for homemade hair gel…yep..that’s right…homemade hair gel. I can’t wait to try it, I even have all of the ingredients in my cupboard! She has recipes for homemade bubble bath, school lunch recipes (to help minimize the boring same-ol’, same-ol’, and a healthy alternative to overprocessed lunch-in-a-packages), inexpensive Christmas crafts, chore lists, projects with magnets, and much, much more. I just can’t believe all of the information and great ideas she has! I know I will be stopping by frequently! If I could figure out how to work my blog properly, I would add her to my favorites, or blogroll….hmmm…I feel an upcoming project! LOL
Since Halloween is getting near, I thought I’d also share some of the pages the Idea Queen has for yummy treats, spongebob costumes, and pumpkin carving patterns. Be sure to check them out!
Thank you Idea Queen for your awesome ideas, and resources!
